Core Values

Our Mission

Project Horizon empowers youth to lead through science, education, and advocacy.
We aim to make science accessible and actionable by promoting STEM literacy, engaging communities in meaningful outreach, and driving student-led research and environmental initiatives that inspire real-world change.

Background

What all started as an idea between two friends has led to a nonprofit organization formed to help students with their dreams in science and stem.

We used the FBLA Community Service Project to help get us a start, in our first year competing we placed tenth.

Vision

We envision a world where every student is empowered to use science as a tool for understanding, innovation, and change—where communities are informed, engaged, and inspired to solve real challenges through collaboration, curiosity, and evidence-based action.

Our approach

At Project Horizon, we believe that science should be more than just a subject — it should be a catalyst for change. Our approach blends education, action, and collaboration to inspire the next generation of science leaders and problem-solvers.

Education First

We bring hands-on, engaging science experiences to classrooms and communities through interactive workshops, mobile science fairs, and student-led experiments that make STEM fun, relevant, and accessible.

Research With Purpose

Our student members design and lead original research projects that address real-world issues — from environmental sustainability to science literacy. We encourage curiosity-driven exploration backed by critical thinking and communication.

Community-Driven Outreach

We work side by side with local schools, organizations, and civic leaders to ensure our projects serve real needs. Whether we’re planting trees, speaking at public events, or building learning kits, our focus is on impact.

Advocacy Through Action

We empower youth to raise their voices for evidence-based policy, equitable science education, and environmental justice. Through campaigns, partnerships, and service, we build a culture where young people lead with science.
